Its education portfolio includes established institutions such as the Western Australian International School System (WASS) and Penn School, which deliver academic programs aligned with Australian and US standards.
With more than 2,000 employees across multiple business units and locations, RT Holdings operates within a complex organizational environment that requires close coordination across its education and corporate functions.
Business Challenges
As RT Holdings expanded, its existing management tools became less effective in supporting increasingly complex workflows. Disconnected applications, inconsistent processes, and manual administration limited operational visibility and made cross-functional coordination more difficult.
Fragmented Systems and Data
Business information was distributed across separate applications and departmental records. Finance, academic operations, procurement, and HR teams often worked with different data sources, making consolidation and reconciliation time-consuming.
This fragmented environment reduced data consistency and made it difficult for management to obtain a timely view of performance across the group.
Complex Multi-Entity Operations
RT Holdings manages multiple business units, education units, departments, and facilities, each with distinct operational requirements. Processes such as purchasing, inventory control, asset tracking, and cost management were difficult to standardize across the group.
Monitoring resources and comparing operational performance between units therefore required significant manual coordination.
Manual HR Processes
Core HR activities, including attendance tracking, leave requests, overtime management, payroll preparation, and employee evaluations, relied on multiple tools and manual steps.
This increased the administrative workload, raised the risk of data errors, and left less time for workforce planning and talent development.
RT Holdings chose Odoo for its modular architecture, multi-entity capabilities, and integration flexibility. The platform could support diverse operational requirements while connecting with established systems such as Salesforce.
Odoo Implementation by A1 Consulting
A1 Consulting worked with RT Holdings to assess existing workflows, identify process gaps, and define a phased Odoo ERP roadmap. Each implementation stage followed a clear operational scope, helping RT Holdings standardize critical processes while minimizing disruption to ongoing education and administrative activities.
Phase 1: Finance and Operations
The first phase centralized finance, accounting, procurement, inventory, and asset management. Odoo enabled RT Holdings to monitor revenue, expenses, purchasing activities, and physical resources across its business units within a consistent reporting and control framework.
Textbooks, uniforms, teaching equipment, and other inventory items could be monitored more accurately in real time. RT Holdings could also track the usage status and depreciation of fixed assets such as furniture, projectors, and laboratory equipment. Structured approval workflows replaced fragmented email-based purchasing processes with traceable transactions.
Odoo also supported short-course operations by connecting registration, payment, and learning progress tracking within a more coordinated workflow.
Phase 2: Human Resource Management
The second phase introduced a centralized Odoo HRM system for more than 2,000 employees, including Vietnamese and international staff.
The solution covered employee records, recruitment, onboarding, attendance, leave, overtime, payroll, performance evaluation, and offboarding. Consolidating these activities reduced administrative complexity and improved visibility across the employee lifecycle.
Odoo HRM was also connected with the broader ERP environment, giving management a more comprehensive view of workforce capacity, operating costs, recruitment performance, and employee turnover across business units.
Salesforce Integration
A1 Consulting integrated Odoo with Salesforce, which RT Holdings continued to use for student admissions and customer relationship management.
The integration connected admissions, accounting, and academic administration data, reducing duplicate entries and manual reconciliation. Information moved more reliably between teams while each platform retained its designated role.
