Choosing an Odoo plan in Malaysia depends on the apps your business needs, how many people need backend access, and whether you require customisation or external API access. Odoo offers a free single-app option and paid plans that provide access to all Odoo apps.

Custom | US$25.50/user/month with annual billing; US$32.00 with monthly billing | All Odoo apps; Studio, Agentic AI, multi-company and external API; Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or self-hosting options |
Prices are shown in USD. Annual prices are monthly equivalents billed yearly and include a first-year discount for initial users. Odoo.sh hosting is charged separately from the Custom license.
One App Free
One App Free provides one Odoo app to unlimited users on Odoo Online. Some apps require other apps to work; those dependencies can be included without ending the free plan. For example, an eCommerce setup may also need Website and Invoicing. Adding an independent app can move the database to a paid plan.
Standard Plan
Standard includes all Odoo apps for a per-user fee and runs on Odoo Online. It suits businesses using standard Odoo functionality. It does not include Odoo Studio or external API access, and Odoo Online does not support custom server modules.
Custom Plan
Custom includes all Odoo apps, Odoo Studio, multi-company databases and external API access. It can run on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or a self-hosted server. Odoo Online still does not support custom server modules; use Odoo.sh or self-hosting when custom modules are required. Odoo.sh hosting is billed separately.
Light User Eligibility and Pricing
A Light User license provides limited access for eligible employees, such as selected self-service functions and specific roles in Point of Sale, Manufacturing Shop Floor or Inventory Barcode. It does not provide the same backend access as a regular user. The Malaysia pricing display lists Light User at US$5.90 per user/month. Eligibility and access are limited, so confirm the applicable roles and final quote before including Light Users in your budget.
What Does an Odoo Subscription Include?
A paid Odoo subscription covers access to the apps included in the plan, plus Odoo Online hosting, backups, security monitoring, email integration, upgrades and email support. Odoo.sh hosting, implementation services, in-app credits and maintenance of custom code are charged separately.
Odoo Hosting Options and Their Costs
Your hosting choice affects both the monthly bill and who manages the infrastructure. Odoo Online hosting is included with the subscription; Odoo.sh hosting and self-managed infrastructure have separate costs.
Odoo Online
Odoo Online is Odoo’s managed cloud option. Hosting is included, and Odoo handles backups, security and upgrades. It supports standard Odoo apps but does not run custom modules. Storage is included up to 100 GB.
Odoo.sh
Odoo.sh is a managed platform for databases that need custom or third-party modules, with development, staging and production environments. Hosting is billed separately from the Enterprise license. Its cost depends on resources such as workers, storage and staging environments.
Self-Hosted Odoo Enterprise
With a Custom subscription, you can run Odoo Enterprise on your own server or cloud infrastructure. The Enterprise license still applies; your business manages and pays for the infrastructure, backups, security and ongoing operations.
How to Estimate the Total Cost of Odoo ERP
Start with the recurring subscription, then add any hosting, implementation, integration and support costs that apply to your setup. Keep one-time project work separate from ongoing expenses so you can compare the initial investment with the cost of running Odoo each year.
License Cost by Number and Type of Users
Count internal users who access the Odoo backend to create, view or edit records. Some active employee records without a linked user may also count as paying users. Customers and suppliers who only use the portal are not paying users. Check Light User eligibility separately before estimating the license total.
Implementation and Data Migration
Implementation is scoped to your business requirements. The estimate may include process discovery, configuration, data preparation and migration, testing, training and go-live support. Ask for a breakdown of the proposed scope and effort; implementation services are separate from the Odoo subscription.
For a practical overview of the project stages, read our ERP implementation guide for Malaysian businesses.
Odoo Success Pack | Consultant hours | Returning customer | New customer |
Starter | 4 | US$458.82 | US$390 |
Basic | 25 | US$2,400 | US$2,040 |
Standard | 50 | US$4,200 | US$3,570 |
Custom | 100 | US$7,500 | US$6,375 |
Pro | 200 | US$15,000 | US$12,750 |
The 15% discount applies to a new customer’s first pack only. These are Odoo Success Pack prices, not a quote for every implementation project. Travel expenses and maintenance of extra modules or lines of code may be charged separately.
Customisation, Integrations and Malaysia Localisation
Custom development and connections to other systems can add work beyond standard configuration. For a Malaysian deployment, review Odoo Malaysia localization to understand how local tax and e-Invoice processes, including SST and MyInvois, may be handled in your required version and setup. The level of configuration or integration needed depends on your workflows.
Ongoing Support and Upgrade Planning
Include any partner support, enhancements and custom-code maintenance in your ongoing budget. Odoo subscription upgrades are included, but maintaining custom code is separate; allow for review and testing when planning a version upgrade.

These options differ in licensing, features and who manages the hosting.

One App Free | Free for one app with unlimited users; required app dependencies may be included | Odoo Online hosting is included | Teams that can meet their needs with one app and its dependencies |
Community | Free, open-source edition | Usually self-hosted; your team or provider manages infrastructure, backups, security and upgrades | Businesses with technical resources that want to manage their own deployment |

Custom also offers Odoo.sh or self-hosting, with separate hosting costs where applicable | Businesses that need Enterprise features, support or additional hosting and customisation options |
Community is a software edition; One App Free is a subscription offer with an app limit. Enterprise is the licensed edition, available through plans with different features and hosting choices.

How to Keep Your Odoo Budget Under Control
- Count backend users accurately. Customers and suppliers who only access the portal are not paying users.
- Choose the plan based on required features. Check whether you need Studio, multi-company or external API access before selecting Standard or Custom.
- Use standard Odoo workflows where they fit. Custom code can add hosting and maintenance work, so define the business need before including development.
- Scope data migration and integrations early. Clear requirements help your implementation partner estimate the work more accurately.
- Separate recurring and one-time costs. Track the subscription and hosting separately from implementation, support and custom-code maintenance.

Custom is US$25.50 with annual billing or US$32.00 with monthly billing. Annual rates include a first-year discount for initial users; confirm the current quote before subscribing.

Can I host Odoo for free?
Odoo Online hosting is included with One App Free and eligible subscription plans. Community can be self-hosted without a license fee, but you still need to provide and manage the server. Self-hosted Enterprise requires an Enterprise subscription.

Does Odoo charge per user or per app?
Paid Standard and Custom plans charge per user and include all Odoo apps for one fee. One App Free is the exception: it is limited to one app and its required dependencies.
Is Odoo.sh hosting included in the subscription?
No. Odoo.sh hosting is billed separately from the Enterprise license. Its price depends on the hosting resources and environments selected.
Does the Odoo license include implementation?
No. Implementation services, such as requirements analysis, configuration, data import and training, are separate from the subscription and are estimated based on project scope.
